Welcome to the Group Anesthesia Services (GAS) Website. We hope you find it informative. It is our goal to provide the highest quality anesthesia care to our community. Preparation for surgery or other procedures can cause anxiety and raise questions. We hope that the time you spend here will help to allay fears and answer questions you might have. The website has been designed to introduce you to our doctors and to give you an idea of what to expect from your anesthesiologist before, during, and after your procedure.

We pride ourselves on the doctors in our organization. Our physicians come from the best training programs in the country and are certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology. They are attracted to our practice because of our tradition of providing the highest quality of care. Several of our doctors have been or are now on the faculties of the University of California San Francisco or Stanford University, teaching the anesthesiologists of the future. We take an active role in the leadership of our professional societies and several of our members do volunteer medical work throughout the world.

We have specialists in pediatric anesthesia, cardiothoracic anesthesia, regional anesthesia and ICU Medicine. Our physicians are involved in patient care throughout the hospital. In addition to the operating rooms, we provide care in the cardiac catheterization laboratory, the radiology and angiography suites, the MRI scanner, endoscopy suites, and more. Whatever your anesthesia needs we have the knowledge and experience to optimize your anesthesia.

We are proud of our involvement in two hospitals with obstetrical anesthesia. We have worked hard to incorporate techniques for the control of labor pain and are happy to be able to offer patient-controlled epidural analgesia to many of our patients. We have also established an educational program for couples to learn about labor pain and the options which are available to treat it.
